My name is David Wickham, and I am the person behind the camera at The English Garden Photographer. Born and raised in the wooded county of Surrey, my love of gardens and the natural landscape was informed heavily by the winding River Wey and it's water meadows, the variant woodlands and of course, gardens. I not only enjoy photographing the beauty and detail of gardens, but I am truly interested in the intricacies of the careful design and planning that goes into creating, nurturing and stewardship of a living, breathing and dynamic space. I am also fascinated by how a garden develops over time to various challenges and ideas...
My photography has come full circle- I have re-discovered my passion for gardens, plants and nature after a successful career in lifestyle and event photography, as well as editorial and portrait- My work has been published in Hello!, Italian Vogue and Homes & Gardens amongst others, whilst my clients have included Harper Collins, Newsweek, Secret Cinema, The Shangri La Hotel Group & UKTV.
I regularly work with magazines and also with businesses and individuals who need imagery to showcase their products and work, and I am excited to spend more time meeting the creators of all types of gardens and landscape- To produce beautiful imagery, and share it here, at The English Garden Photographer.
